We are delighted to announce that Daisy Basilio, Events Coordinator, has been named the winner of the Chris Peacock Rising Star Award at the 2025 M&IT Awards.
At just 24, Daisy has already made an outstanding impact on the Club and the wider events industry. She has redefined the client experience with her creativity, mentored her colleagues with empathy, and championed workplace wellbeing as a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
Paul Harvey, editor and judge at the M&IT Awards, said: “At just 24, she has already made a major impact at her place of work, redefining client experiences, mentoring colleagues, and spearheading workplace wellbeing initiatives as a qualified Mental Health First Aider. Our judges were impressed by her combination of commercial success, emotional intelligence, and passion for the industry, which they said make her a shining example of the next generation of event leaders.”
Speaking about her win, Daisy Basilio said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to win the Chris Peacock Rising Star Award. I want to say a huge thank you to my manager, Joanna Lunn, and the whole VSC team for believing in me, supporting me, and giving me the opportunities to grow in my role. This recognition means so much, and I couldn’t have achieved it without them.”
Joanna Lunn, Sales & Marketing Manager at the VSC, added: “We’re incredibly proud of Daisy. She approaches everything she does with passion, creativity, and a genuine care for both clients and colleagues. This award is so well deserved, and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next in her career.”
Daisy’s win marks another proud milestone for the VSC, reflecting both her individual success and the Club’s culture of nurturing young talent. The award follows an exceptional year for the Club, which also saw VSC named Venue of the Year (under 300 delegates) at the 2024 MIA Awards, winner of Excellence in Wellbeing at the 2025 HR in Hospitality Awards, and Silver in the Best Conference/Event Venue category at the 2025 Conference & Events Awards.
